OLD İSTANBUL

Considered a masterpiece of the Tulip Era style, the fountain was built in 1732 on the site of a small old fountain in a different location (on Bereketzade Street) to meet the water needs of the people. It was repaired in 1844 at the request of Bezmialem Valide Sultan, the mother of Sultan Abdülmecid; It was repaired again in the 20th century and moved to its present location.
